Why Did GOD Create The Devil If He Knew The Future?

Whenever I hear about someone leaving Christianity I commonly hear that their reason is because they had questions about the Bible that no one could answer. Either that or they say they weren’t allowed to ask questions because their pastor would tell them not to question and challenge GOD. These people say they were made to feel like they had to believe everything blindly and weren’t allowed to have a voice. So when they become adults they rebel against this and search for a new way.

I can relate to this because a similar thing happened to me. I grew up being forced to go to church but once I became an adult and felt like I could think for myself I stopped going to church and began seeking GOD in my own way. I felt like the church’s way was just not for me, because it seemed like a bunch of religious rituals without a real relationship with GOD.

A few of the questions I had at that time were “Why would GOD make the tree of the knowledge of good evil if he knew it could cause Adam and Eve to sin?” Why did God create the potential for man to sin? Why didn’t GOD just make no forbidden fruit and let Adam and Eve happily live in the garden forever? And if GOD is all-knowing, why did he create the Angel Lucifer if he knew that he would sin against him?” “Is this just all a game?”

I had these questions and more, and until I was born again I didn’t know the answers, however, the closer I drew near to GOD the more potential answers to these questions became more obvious to me.

And before I explain some of these things let me first say that I don’t believe Christians have to live in mystery and confusion without answers because the Bible tells us that we can know and understand GOD. In fact GOD wants us to know him, and wants us to seek him for answers. Here are the scriptures:

Matius 7:7-8 – “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

The Bible tells us that if we seek we will find and if we persist in asking we will receive what we ask for. Therefore I must conclude that the people who ask the infamous questions above are not truly seeking the answers. Those questions are simply their excuse to reject the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Even when I had those questions as a teenager I was not genuinely seeking the answers, but I was simply and pridefully trying to corner the older Christians by trying to ask them questions I thought they couldn’t answer.

Was GOD supposed to give an answer to an arrogant prideful teenager boasting about no one being able to answer his questions? Of course not. GOD doesn’t owe me anything. The Bible says GOD humbles the proud and exalts the humble(James 4:6). Therefore if I would have remained like that and GOD didn’t show me mercy I would have perished in my ignorance and died without knowing.

What else does the Bible say?

Yeremia 9:23-24 “Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me..”

The Bible says never boast in the things of this world but “IF” you boast about anything, boast that you understand GOD, and that you KNOW GOD. Therefore GOD wants us to know him, and GOD wants us to seek him. I don’t believe GOD is hiding the answers to these common questions from his children. But are you genuinely dedicating time to seeking GOD before you say you don’t have an answer? How much time are you spending in prayer? How much time do you spend in worship alone? How much time do you spend studying your Bible?

I’ve found that the majority of the people with these questions have never even read the entire Bible from cover to cover and have never spent even an hour in prayer. Maybe they skimmed through the Bible and prayed for 5 minutes and gave up when an answer was not given instantly. We spend more time on social media than we do seeking GOD and then expect GOD to reward us for giving less effort toward him than we do the things of this world.

James 4:8 – “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

If you draw near to GOD he will draw near to you. You don’t have to seek GOD perfectly but give effort! Spend time! Dedicate a portion of your morning or evening.

And finally this verse:

I Corinthians 2:9-10 – “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.”

The Bible says that no one knows the deep things of GOD except those who have the spirit of GOD, because the spirit searches even the hidden things of GOD. Therefore if you have the spirit of GOD, the knowledge of GOD is accessible for you. But is your heart truly set on desiring knowledge about GOD? Is this your focus and desire? Many of these mysterious things are hidden from the world, but they are not hidden from GOD’s children who have the spirit of GOD.

Therefore, with all that being said… Why? Why did GOD make the devil if he knew the devil would sin against him? And why did GOD make the forbidden fruit if he knew it could lead Adam and Eve to sin and death?

Have you ever read the Bible where Jesus says everything he sees the Father in Heaven doing, Jesus also does?

John 5:19 – “Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.”

And then did you also read that Jesus called Judas “A Devil” long before Judas betrayed him? Jesus already knew Judas was a devil when he first selected him.

John 6:70 – “Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”

Do you see the connection there? GOD made Lucifer, even though he knew he would betray him, and Jesus chose Judas to be his disciple even though he knew Judas would betray him. Jesus says whatever he sees the Father doing he also does. Jesus also says he lost Judas only so that the scriptures could be fulfilled(John 17:12).

But why any of this? Why the forbidden fruit? Why sin?

Let me ask you…

What does it take for a human child to be born on the earth? It takes a man and a woman coming from two different homes to come together, then an engagement, then a wedding, then consummation, in which the virgin woman sheds her blood to form a covenant with her husband. And then there is a race in which millions of sperm cells are racing to reach the one egg in her womb, but only one sperm wins the race and receives the “crown of life” to become a child.

And what does the Bible say:

“Matthew 22:14 – ““For many are called, but few are chosen.”

Many sperm cells enter into the womb but only FEW cells are chosen to become children on the earth.

Then after this, a woman must suffer the pains of rearing a child, vomiting, contractions, swollen feet, a widened noise, hormonal changes, and so much more, and then she must endure the pain of birthing the child. And after the child is born all her labor is forgotten and rejoices over there being a new child in the world.

Do you see the parallel here in the story of Jesus? Jesus came to earth, born from a virgin, he endured and he suffered and shed his blood to establish a covenant with us so that we could be REBORN as the children of GOD.

Therefore when I ask you, what does take to make a human child? You read above about the long and bitter-sweet and painful process needed to create a human that will only live for 100 years.

Now what if I asked you “What does it take to make a child of GOD that will live forever and ever?”

If what is written above is ALL that must take place to create a flesh and blood human being to live for only 120 years, what is ALL that must take place to create a child of the MOST HIGH GOD that will live for ALL eternity?

What if ALL that you’ve seen happening on the earth from the beginning until now is this similar process… What if THIS is how true children of GOD are made? What if ALL of this Pain, suffering, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis and more is the entire process of growing children in this world’s womb so that the children of GOD can be born out of this world?

What if ALL of this was for YOU?

Would you still question GOD then?

If ALL of this was GOD’S plan to create HIS children who he would spend all eternity with, as our loving Father, awaiting to share ALL his goodness with us. What if GOD was bearing with ALL the wickedness and evil in the world because he was waiting for YOU to be born? And not just born from your mother, but truly BORN FROM GOD.

Acts 14:22 “We must endure many hardships to enter the kingdom of God”

Romans 8:17 says we will be gloried with Jesus IF we suffer together with him. Therefore what if ALL you had to go through was a part of the birthing pains for you to be FULLY Born as a child of GOD? Would you now endure and rejoice because now you know part of the purpose of it all?

Conclusion:

Remember what GOD says before creating the first Human being:

Genesis 1:26 – “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness”

Think about a husband and a wife after establishing a covenant of marriage… They look at each other and say “Let us create a child together in our own image and likeness”. And then the wife undergoes all the suffering needed for their children to be born.

Now think of Jesus, enduring, suffering, and giving his life on the cross so that you can be REBORN out of death and into life. Reborn as a child of GOD.

What if GOD bore with great patience for thousands and thousands of years waiting for his children to be born? A woman only bears patiently for 9 months for her child, but how long has GOD bore patiently waiting for his? How gloriously, holy and mighty is Our Father and Our GOD.

There are other answers to these questions also that I may write about later, but this is one answer that I believe is most fitting to lay the foundation for the topics of the future.

Thank you ALL for reading. Share this post if you want.

God bless you all who are in Christ Jesus.
