Do you understand why you get hungry every day? Do you know why you get thirsty each day? Do you know why you get tired at the end of each day? To answer these questions just look at what happens if you do not satisfy these urges. What happens if you don’t eat? What happens if you don’t kill other living things (Plants and Animals) so that you can eat? Do you live or do you die? What happens if you don’t quench your thirst with water for an extended period of time? Do you live or do you die? What happens if you ignore the feeling of tiredness and do not sleep? Do you live or die?
So why do you get hungry, thirsty, and sleepy? Because death is knocking at the door. And why is death knocking at the door? Because of sin. For the Bible says the wages of sin is death. If a man doesn’t eat, he will die. If a man doesn’t drink water he will die. If a man doesn’t sleep he will die.
For this reason, Jesus taught us that HE(Jesus) is the bread of life and that whoever does not eat HIM(Jesus) will die.
John 6:35
“And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger…”
For this reason, Jesus taught us that HE(Jesus) will give us the living water(John 4:10), and that whoever drinks HIS(Jesus) water will never thirst again.
John 6:35
“…and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
For this reason, Jesus taught us that HE(Jesus) is the true rest and whoever comes to HIM(Jesus) will receive REST.
Matthew 11:28
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
What are the daily needs of each and every person on the earth? Food to eat, water to drink, and a shelter to sleep. What did Adam and Eve have before the fall in sin? Fruit to eat, a river to drink from, and a beautiful garden to sleep in. Everything was given to them freely. However after sin, man had to till the land and hunt/kill for food, dig deep into the ground to create wells for water, and they were removed from the beautiful garden and had to build shelter of their own. Man chose to no longer be sustained by GOD but decided to be sustained by their own “knowledge of good and evil” Therefore man had to put his own knowledge to work and fend for himself. No more God’s fruit, God’s river of life, or God’s shelter(garden).

Did you know that fruit is the only thing on the earth you can eat that doesn’t require death to occur for you to eat it? A fruit of the tree is the tree’s offering to you. The fruit is pure carbon. The tree is not harmed when someone gently removes its fruit. Therefore man originally was given fruit to eat because there was no sin and there was no death. However now that death has entered the world through sin, to consume fruit only would prove to be insufficient for many people, therefore now we are dependent on the life and death of other creatures to sustain our own lives. Look what sin has done…

However, in all of man’s knowledge man was still facing a problem that he could not solve. The problem of death that was caused by sin. When death comes knocking on the door of man’s stomach man could use his knowledge of hunting and farming to overcome death and eat food. When death comes because a man is thirsty man can use his filtering and digging knowledge to find water, and when death comes because a man is tired man can use his knowledge of construction to build a home. But what about death? Nowhere in man’s knowledge was the solution for death ever found.
Men have tried to solve this problem for thousands of years and failed. The stories of Dracula, vampires, Egyptian and pagan rituals, the “fountain of youth” drinking blood and more were all things man tried to do to escape death. Even today people like Elon Musk and others are attempting to become one with machines transfer their consciousness into robots in an attempt to live forever. Wealthy people have had their bodies frozen so they can be brought back to life if humans ever discover a solution to death.
However, the reason humans are struggling is because humans don’t know the two things that are important to solving this problem… The beginning and the end.
Beginning: Why is there death in the world? Sin.
End: What is the solution to death? Jesus.
There has been a solution to death for 2000 years, however just like in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve rejected God’s provision and sought “Knowledge” on their own, Humans still today reject GOD’s provision, and want to use their “knowledge” to seek a solution on their own.
The Bible says “1 Corinthians 1:27 – “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty”
Because with all of man’s wisdom and sophistication how could they have ever thought that the solution to hunger, thirst, shelter, and death could be found in one man named Jesus? Such a truth is far too simple and unscientific for the wise men of this world. But what does the Bible say about this:
1 Corinthians 2:14 – “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
In Conclusion:
Jesus is the true Garden of Eden. In Jesus we have bread/fruit, we have living water, we have rest, and we have life. In Jesus, we have escaped death. Although these physical bodies will perish, our souls will live forever and the consciousness that humans are seeking for a way to transfer into robots will be transferred by GOD when we receive our glorified bodies in the resurrection.
Jesus is the way, He is the truth and he is the life(John 14:6), man shall not live by bread alone, man must live by Jesus(Matthew 4:4). The perishable bread of this world can temporarily preserve your physical body, but it cannot preserve your soul. The pollutable water of this earth can only eliminate your thirst for a moment, but it can do nothing to quench the pangs of your soul. The most beautiful bed in the world can allow you to sleep, but it can never give you rest for your soul.
The bread of this earth can never be our savior, because this bread is rotting, molding, and perishing with each moment. And even after the bread is eaten after 3 or 4 hours its effect has disappeared and you will need to eat it again. The bread of this earth, the wood that humans use to build their homes is all affected by sin, it’s all dying. The wood is rotting, the metal is rusting, and the bread is molding. All these things we use to preserve this physical body are perishing the same way these bodies are perishing. How can these things save us? They are subject to the same conditions of sin and death just like humans.
However when we eat the bread of Jesus it will never rot or perish and by this bread, we will live for eternity. When we drink the living water from Jesus our souls will never be thirsty again, and when we enter the shelter of Jesus, we may get physically tired but our souls will forever be at rest.
Please Family. Place your trust and faith in Jesus. This world and the things in this world can not save you. When the body perishes your soul must go to one of two places. If you have life within your soul you will spring upwards toward life, but if there is death you will descend downward towards death. Jesus is the life, he is the only way, GOD has given us a solution. Accept Jesus today.
