Good Afternoon Family,
I want to tell a recent story from my life that I hope will be able to encourage someone:
A little over a year ago I ran into some financial difficulties and I began to worry about my finances for the future. I was disappointed with my situation because previously I was very successful financially, but I had walked away from my old career because I was called to leave it all behind to follow Jesus and focus on God’s will for my life.
When I walked away from my old life I did it with full faith. I believed that GOD would take care of all my needs, because I was obeying what GOD was telling me to do. Things were going really well at first; I still had a good amount of money saved up, and I was able to live off my savings and maintain a similar lifestyle to the one I had previously. I had no worries and my focus was only on God.
Eventually, my savings began to dry up, but I still wasn’t worried because I just believed in my heart that at any moment God will going to make a Million Dollars magically appear in my house because after all God told me to leave my old life.
I waited and waited for the million dollars to magically appear out of thin air, but the million dollars never came. And I eventually began to wonder if I had made the right decision. I thought “Did God really tell me to leave my old career?” I also thought “Maybe I was just being overly zealous and acted impulsively. Surely if God told me to leave my old life he would have provided a big opportunity for me by now right?” “Doesn’t the Bible say God will provide? I believed this word, so what is wrong in my life?”
I had all these thoughts and I experienced many different emotions, and eventually, I didn’t know what to think anymore. It seemed like my prayers were all being met with silence. Eventually, I got on the phone with my Dad and he also didn’t understand what I was going through. My dad who is a man of God also, was proud to see me choose to follow Jesus, and he also was surprised about my circumstances. So we decided to pray together over the phone that God would bring an end to my worries and tell me what was going wrong in my situation. After this prayer, I was confident that I would get an answer to my prayer.
The next day I woke up in the mood to fire up my grill and make some sausages and burgers. Prior to this, I had not touched my grill in many months but this day I was in the mood to use the grill for some strange reason. I had everything to use the grill ready, but I couldn’t find the sandals that are used on the back patio. I began to look for them and I remembered that the sandals were upstairs in the living room behind the big bean bag chair. So I went upstairs into the living room and lifted up the bean bag chair and underneath the bean bag chair was a dead sparrow.
When I saw the sparrow I stopped, I was in shock because it seemed impossible for a sparrow to fly into my house, up the stairs, and into the living room to die behind a chair without me noticing it. And that’s when this Bible Verse entered my mind:
Mathew 10:29-31
“Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
Could it all be a coincidence? A person might think. But that’s impossible if we believe God’s word because God’s word says not a sparrow falls to the ground apart from the will of God. So this sparrow that fell and died in my house was part of God’s will and plan. This was God’s answer to my prayer. Not only did God answer me with the Bible, but he also answered me with a physical dead sparrow in my home. The bible verse came to life right before my eyes.
From that moment on all my worries were gone. Things have not been perfect, but God has taken care of every need that I have. All the things I was worried about losing, I have been able to keep those things. God has been faithful to me and my needs have been met with his provision. In closing: I make this post to say, put your faith and trust in God. The way God provides may not always look the way you expect it to, but God is faithful and his Word is true. If God says not to worry because he will provide, he will do what he says he would. God is not a man that he should lie(Numbers 23:19).
Mathew 6:26
“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
Thank you for reading.
God bless you all who are in Christ Jesus.
